THE SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF THE DOODLE FICTION, MANGA, AND GRAPHIC NOVEL IN STRUCTURES AND ELEMENTS.

THE SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES OF THE DOODLE FICTION, MANGA, AND GRAPHIC NOVEL IN STRUCTURES AND ELEMENTS.

INTRODUCTION

Literature has a significant social impact. It is the human way of amusement, communication, and cultural preservation. Everyone benefits from it since it retains memories, feelings, information, way of life, and so on. Literature has undergone a significant transformation over time. These literary works made the transition from paper to the digital realm in the twenty-first century, and they haven't stopped since. Memes are the most well-known works of modern literature. Memes, on the other hand, would not exist if other types of literature did not exist.

This blog pertains to the similarities and differences of the three pieces aforementioned above in the title (Doodle fiction, Manga, and Graphic Novel) in terms of structure and elements.

DOODLE FICTION

A literary presentation where the author uses doodle drawings and handwritten visuals in a literary presentation. The story is enhanced by the pictures, which often include humorous parts that would be absent if the illustrations were not included.

Examples of Doodle fiction:

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

Pie in the Sky by Remy Lai

MANGA

Manga is a type of Japanese comic book. The majority of manga follow a late-nineteenth-century Japanese style, while the genre has a lengthy heritage in previous Japanese art. Both comics and cartooning are referred known as a manga in Japan.

Examples of Manga:

DRAGON BALL BY AKIRA TORIYAMA

INUYASHA BY RUMIKO TAKAHASHI

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST BY HIROMU ARAKAWA

GRAPHIC NOVEL

A graphic novel is a book that contains content from comic books. Although the term "novel" usually refers to extended fictional works, the term "graphic novel" is used to refer to fiction, non-fiction, and anthologized works.

EXAMPLES OF GRAPHIC NOVEL:

Ice Haven by Daniel Clowes
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi

Maus by Art Spiegelman

The similarities of Doodle fiction, Manga, and Graphic Novel

All these genres (Doodle fiction, Manga, and Graphic Novel) incorporate drawings, illustrations, or graphics in telling the story. These are all from the 21st century and didn't come into being without the help of a computer.

Differences in terms of structure

Both Manga and Graphic Novels are written in a comic book manner, the structural distinctions between them are minimal. Panels distinguish one scene from another in both of them. They change the formality of the pieces in terms of content, vocabulary, and organization. In comparison to Doodle Fictions, the most evident structural change is apparent. In contrast to Manga and Graphic Novels, Doodle Fictions have a novel or storybook style of narrative. Doodle fiction combines text and images in a manner similar to those of articles, although comic book styles do not.

Differences in terms of elements

Although they share many elements in common, the most noticeable differences are in visual style and storytelling. The words and drawings of doodle fiction are written with handwritten elements. The images in manga are drawn in a highly distinctive Japanese art style, and they are also read from right to left. Manga elements are always purely Japanese. Culture, people, environment, behavior, and other aspects of Japanese culture are among these factors. Doodle Fictions and Graphic Novels, on the other hand, can be from any country. Finally, graphic novels are drawn in an Americanized style and must be read from left to right.

Conclusion

The three literary classics of the 21st century share many structural and elemental similarities and contrasts, but these aren't important when you read them. Simply have a good time, be entertained, and enjoy the artwork. Adopt and embrace literary genres from the 21st century.
